Building Partnerships That Work with USDA NRCS Workshop

Hosted alongside the La Jolla Band of Luiseño Indians, this one-day workshop and tour will support federally recognized Southern California Tribes in navigating NRCS programs and accessing funding for landscape-scale projects. Participants will learn how the NRCS planning process aligns with Tribal Forest management plans, explore key funding pathways, and hear directly from Tribes who will share successful partnership strategies with NRCS.

Who Can Attend

  • Federally recognized California Tribes, Tribal staff, leaders, natural resource professionals, and ITC members.

Complimentary Registration

  • Free for California Tribes actively pursuing or exploring NRCS funding opportunities.

  • Free for partners, agencies, or non-Tribal organizations invited to participate.

Travel & Lodging

  • Tribal Attendees: Travel reimbursement is available for federally recognized Tribes. ITC will reserve and pay for a hotel room at Harrah’s Resort SoCal based on the dates you provide during registration. Requests made after Monday, October 26, are not guaranteed.

  • NRCS Staff & All Non-Tribal Attendees: You are responsible for booking and paying for your own lodging. The rate is $99.00 + tax on Tuesday, November 17, and $119.00 + tax on Wednesday, November 18. Use the reservation link to book a room by Monday, October 26.
